You can select Middletown Christian Schools as your chosen organization to receive a portion of every transaction you make when you shop at Kroger through the Kroger Community Rewards program.  Please note that this is at no added cost to you. Learn more below:

Information below can be found at kroger.com/i/community/community-rewards.

The Kroger Family of Companies is committed to community engagement, positive social impact and charitable giving at the national and local levels. Every community is unique, but our common goal is to partner with the neighborhoods we serve and help the people there live healthier lives.

One of the ways in which we do this is through our Kroger Community Rewards program. This program makes fundraising easy by donating to local organizations based on the shopping you do every day. Once you link your Card to an organization, all you have to do is shop at Kroger and swipe your Shopper’s Card. Here’s how it works:

1. Create a digital account.

A digital account is needed to participate in Kroger Community Rewards. If you already have a digital account, simply link your Shopper’s Card to your account so that all transactions apply toward the organization you choose.

2. Link your Card to an organization.

Selecting the organization that you wish to support is as simple as updating the Kroger Community Rewards selection on your digital account.

1. Sign in to your digital account.

2. Search for your organization here.

3. Enter the name or NPO number of the organization you wish to support.

4. Select the appropriate organization from the list and click “Save”.

Your selected organization will also display in the Kroger Community Rewards section of your account. If you need to review or revisit your organization, you can always do so under your Account details.

3. Your organization earns.

Any transactions moving forward using the Shopper’s Card number associated with your digital account will be applied to the program, at no added cost to you. Kroger donates annually to participating organizations based on your percentage of spending as it relates to the total spending associated with all participating Kroger Community Rewards organizations.

If you have any questions, please contact our Customer Service Center.

Whether you’re a customer or an organization, get started today!

Note: If you are a customer, make sure you have a preferred store selected to view participating organizations. If you are applying on behalf of an organization, please select a store in the same area as your organization.

Designate MCS as you give to the Ohio Christian Education Network Scholarship Granting Organization

Friends of MCS now have a cost-free way to make a significant contribution to the students of our school. Thanks to Ohio’s state tax credit for taxpayers who make a contribution to certified Scholarship Granting Organizations like Ohio Christian Education Network Scholarship Granting Organization (OCEN SGO), you are able to make a gift that will be designated for scholarships to worthy students attending our school. The OCEN SGO is operated by the Ohio Christian Education Network (OCEN) and our school may take advantage of OCEN SGO through its membership with OCEN. Here’s how it works:

1. Go to OHIOCEN.ORG/SGO and click either the GIVE ONLINE or MAIL A CHECK button to contribute. Be sure to select Middletown Christian Schools in the drop-down menu so that your entire contribution will be designated for scholarships to students at our school. If you give online, OCEN SGO will immediately email you a receipt for gift. If you mail a check, we will send a receipt once the check is received. This is the receipt you will use to claim your credit when you file your state taxes.

2. For gifts up to $750, you will receive a dollar-for-dollar state tax credit for gifts made during that tax year. Thanks to a recent change in state law, gifts made prior to April 15 of the subsequent year may also be credited to the previous year’s tax liability. So you can make a gift in April 2024 and credit it toward your 2023 taxes. You will receive 100% of your contribution back, up to $750 for individuals or $1500 for couples, when you file your taxes for the year. The students at our school receive the benefit of your gift at essentially no cost to you.

3. Since the tax credit is granted per individual taxpayer, married couples filing jointly may receive up to $1,500 in credit if both names are included on the gift. You may contribute more than $750, but the credit is capped at $750 per taxpayer. Gifts beyond the cap may be claimed as a typical deduction.

4. Once a gift is claimed as a state tax credit, it is not eligible to be claimed as a federal deduction if the taxpayer is itemizing. OCEN SGO is a certified Scholarship Granting Organization by the Ohio Attorney General.

Students with a demonstrated financial need are prioritized, but all students are eligible to apply for an OCEN SGO scholarship. Your gifts not only benefit our students by making enrollment more financially accessible, they also help relieve a significant portion of the school budget that is committed to financial aid, freeing those funds for other important uses.

More information will be sent out when MCS families will be able to apply for SGO scholarships.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the MCS Advancement office at 513-423-4542, ext. 1182 or advancement@mcseagles.net.
